Shivani M
"I'm not host, I'm organiser."
VII Sem, CSE
“My whole family is unfashionable”
Hailing from the captivating district of Kannur, this sundari penne hoards an abundance of talents and is the perfect addition to the Art Section. Considering how often Shivani wraps herself in a jacket, one might be misdirected into thinking that she usually retreats into her cocoon. However, beneath that façade lies a bold individual, unafraid to speak her mind and scare the socks off people. Speaking of which, Ms. I’ll-beat-yo-as* is an excellent organiser (not host). She has done it all, from demanding that participants “satisfy everyone” (not what you think) to ordering “losers” to stand aside. If there’s anyone who can grab the attention of a ruthless crowd with power-packed punchlines, it’s this sass-queen.
Whn Shivani ntrs th cht, D vwls lev. Shivani is neither Kannadiga nor Mallu, she is Indian. She, being a woman, is entitled to a free bus ride from Mysore to Sakleshpura. She is almost as tall as her hair. She thinks calling everyone ‘bro’ automatically qualifies her as a Bangalorean. If you hear a “what ma” or “what pa” in the vicinity, you know who that is.
Her taste buds have taken a firm stance against anything with mustard or remotely resembling a vegetable. Give her chicken in any shape, form or size and she’ll take it. Especially if it is from the deep end of the fried spectrum and comes dipped in manchow soup. Clearly, she cannot go a day without her carnivorous cravings. She frowns upon those who try to steal her soup (careful, she almost tried to hit an Eddie once) and was once surprised that her ice cream had ice in it (no, she was not drunk). Shivani arrives at every meet with a pack of Kurkure and a water bottle, her go-to orders and has rightfully been crowned the ‘Chief Snacks Provider’ of the Board.
When she isn’t busy being a Potterhead, she’s embarking on an anime marathon. She can spot Naruto or Death Note references from a mile away! Treasured by her mentors and feared by her adversaries, this Erudite Eddie is a permanent resident atop the academic summit. ‘Math genius’ and ‘dead soul’ (?) are some titles bestowed upon Shivani by her closest peers. Nothing gets her in a frenzy quite like the thought of picking an outfit for a special occasion or attempting to lock a door that has no latch (paavam kutti). Watching videos of people dressed as ducks, dancing their hearts out is her ultimate stress buster.
Shivani loves to hit the road; she has undertaken major life adventures such as leaping from EEE to CS within a span of one year. Not only is she a fan of Fahadh Faasil, Kamal Haasan and Mahesh Babu (the “long” fellow), but also quite the actress herself. She has gained fame for starring as the cult-favourite ‘assistant goon’ in the blockbuster, ‘Shabd Promo Video’ and has inspired today’s youth to ‘waak the taak’.
Her artistic skills never fail to impress. Shivani adores her poster colours, much like how fellow Eddies adore her. When she paints, she is the epitome of focus and creativity, not to mention, a perfectionist. All in all, this charming artist is a gifted protégé of Sir Edit-a-Lot.
