Bhavana Tiyyagura
Wholesome person
Graduated, ECE
"We're getting old broooo"
"You're twenty"
"We'll soon be doing our taxes, you know? That's scary"
This is how Bhanana gives an unsuspecting well-put-together person an existential crisis. Bhanana can be seen zooming past people in her gaadi, wearing an intense expression, with her hair flying in the wind and her sitting dangerously close to the edge of her seat. She literally likes living on the edge. This fruit is a master kawaii sticker maker and loves going around painting hearts on random body parts of her friends during Shabd. Many Eddies tell me that they've had some of the most insane and scarring conversations with her. The subject of those conversations can range from her intellectual crushes to articles she has read on certain "rituals" that happen naturally.
While this past year was spent playing Among Us with the Board, the Eddies have learnt that she can lie with the conviction of a politician before elections. All things become secondary once you put food in front of her. If you want to make your way into her heart, momos are the way to go. She has a very strong opinion about the taste of Karnataka sambar and how it’s not spicy enough for her. Although Bhanana enjoys food, she, unfortunately, does not possess any culinary skills. I definitely wouldn’t describe her cooking as ‘awful’ as I’m afraid that I may be subjected to her cooking all over again to prove me wrong.
Bhanana is definitely atypical, to say the least. If you spend an hour with her, you are sure to have the most interesting, out-of-world conversations with her. She has this urge to shave her head and believes that hair shouldn’t be given such importance in one’s life. She has a strong emotional attachment to the terrible and stale hostel food even though she does not stay at our college hostel. Go figure that one out. She loves to use the word ‘thuuuu’ in all her conversations. Worry not, she only uses the word out of love and is not condescending or violent in any way whatsoever. She overuses the word "wholesome" so much that the Eddies now instantly associate the word with our beloved fruit.
Bhanana is one of the most hard-working and dedicated people I’ve seen. The amount of effort she puts into making sure an event takes place seamlessly is truly amazing. She cares deeply about others and is there for us whenever we need someone to talk to. The Board couldn’t have asked for a better Chiff this year. While I am super bummed about the fact that this wholesome fruit won't be around as much as I’d like next year, I am also excited to see all the accomplishments and growth she will make in the future and am happy to have been a tiny part of her college life.
