Shivani M

Shivani M

"I'm not host, I'm organiser."

Graduated, CSE

If you see a thin girl wearing glasses and a grey hoodie at all times—rain or shine—with long, jet-black straight hair, munching on Kurkure as she walks around college (always in shoes), completely ignoring you because she apparently can’t see you even though you're waving at her with all your gusto… congratulations, you’ve just encountered Shivani: our humble organizer / host / crazy talented artist.
Now, here’s a juicy fact for every vowel Shvn hates:
A. Shivani might seem like one of those girls who is extremely dedicated towards studying, getting a 10GPA and constantly working on something, which she is, but she is so much more. She’s extremely deceptive with the initial interaction that you have with her and every subsequent one, she just throws googlies at you.
E. She’s really taken Selmon bhoi as her inspiration while driving—very evidently preferring the footpath over the roads. She does have commendable scooter skills; I sat behind her in a saaree and I lived to tell the tale. You might wonder what kind of dreams she might have; the tables turn there, she gets chased by people instead. She also has very intense origin stories for why she hates certain people. My advice, don’t piss her off.
I. This girl has amazing taste in memes, but will not let go of her artistic side: she has a meme collection on Pinterest. She’s somehow fascinated by ducks and never can finish a sentence about a particular duck dancing video she’s been laughing about since we know her. Birds also like her, she spent around an hour just playing with birds at college, having her own Snow White moment. To no one’s surprise she’s also a huge non-vegetarian enthusiast; if you are a non-vegetarian who stopped eating meat, you do not want to face the wrath of Shvn. She’s a huge foodie, but is allergic to a wide variety of random stuff like mustard seeds.
O. Shvn is also a huge anime fan with her ringtone also being the Suzume song and watches all kinds of dramas, including “Virtual police,” i.e., watching the CCTV camera of her house when she was in Bangalore because she was bored. She’s a huge Potterhead who wears her deathly hallows necklace with ethnic clothes and is a proud Gryffindor who rocks her red and golden scarf while facing the dementors that we created.
U. Shvn is just a treasure trove of content, you might assume that she’s a very quiet person, which she kind of is, but she will give you absolutely golden statements, especially when she isn’t thinking about what she’s saying, which is most of the time. Hits such as, “I’ve lost the English”, “gift that won’t dry up”, “that long face fellow”, “people (in office) aren’t inclusive to decent people”, “told in a local way”, and literally any dialogue from the promo video. We also call her the “roast master” cause she unintentionally roasts people, often surprising herself in the process, very casually dropping stuff like “You need to please us” and “How broo, u don’t have anything to do?” in the most innocent tone and continues working while asking a fellow Eddie if he showed up for volunteering the previous day.
I’m sorry I had to use the vowels here, I sadly couldn’t project everyone to shvnese. As soon as I found out I had to write her belt, every conversation I’ve had with her has been “belt material”. But all the vowel jokes and roasting aside, this girl will always, always have your back (especially if you bribe her with a rendezvous at Hill’s Special Momos) and is the most fun person to be around. She’s extremely smart, incredibly talented and she is absolutely crazy fun to be around. If you’re bored and need company to do absolutely nothing, or you need to rant about anything from corporate to classes, she’s your go-to person. The Board and all of us are lucky to have you.
