Anurag G

Anurag G

Big Bike Boy

Graduated, CSE

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, wait. It's… a joke. Watch closely as it gracefully glides over our heads launched with such confidence, you can't help but admire the flight. That's Anurag Ji, always a few paces and punchlines ahead with his witty remarks.
He is a man of many talents. Ravens from distant lands whisper to me of his legends. They say when he sings Bohemian Rhapsody, the wind changes direction just to carry his voice farther. They say his Black speech is so fluent, autocorrect just sits back and takes notes. They say Anurag doesn't finish books, books finish themselves out of respect. Quizzes adjust their difficulty when he signs up. And when Google doesn't have an answer, it calls Anurag. They say he doesn't act, directors just record his life and write scripts as they watch reality bend to his improv. They say Thala needs a reason. Anurag doesn't. They… ain't sayin' nothin' no more, Anurag says.
Beneath the sarcasm so sharp it sometimes leaves people stunned and the constant "that's what she said" jokes (which really should be taxed for their frequency), there's a person of great insight. He's wise, sociable, and surprisingly perceptive, able to tell when someone is struggling, often reaching out before they even ask. That's G-Boss, our English Section Chiff. Make sure to ask him about the cinematic masterpiece that is Navagraha and watch his eyes light up. To summon him, just refer to Goli Baje as Mysore Bonda or, for a faster response, casually drop phrases like "Idli milkshakes," "Comic Sans is underrated," or "Yampa mayo".
He loves video games and having played a few with him, I still can't figure out if his playstyle is that of a tactical genius or just "screw around and find out". I haven't forgiven him for losing my Minecraft horse. I bet he doesn't even remember Juan.
He's curious to the core, with a thirst for learning and if you can keep up, he'll keep you entertained with philosophical tangents that leave you thinking long after. He's an incredible writer (I hope to read more of his work soon) and an avid cinephile who doesn't restrict himself to a language. As much as he's drawn to Shakespeare's work, he holds equal love for Kannada literature. He vibes to everything from A.R. Rahman to Kanye to Taylor Swift.
He's a deeply genuine someone who values meaningful connections, keeps his relationships lowkey, and just enjoys spending time with the people he loves.
There was a time when I thought I had him figured out. Turns out, I'd only read the prologue. Watching his journey over the years has been like watching someone grow into themselves. Maybe he didn't change. Maybe this was always inside him, just waiting for the right moment to unfold. And now, seeing him co-lead our club with poise and strength, I feel nothing but pride and a little awe.
